TEST 1: Sound
Honestly, I was really impressed with the sound quality on these little headphones. It felt like I was in a surround-sound personal movie theater with these on! To test the sound and noise-cancellation tech, I went to a crowded street fair. I could barely hear myself think with how loud it was outside. But I put in the Jive Mini Pods and it seemed like the rest of the world was put on mute. All I could hear was my music! The sound was so incredibly smooth too! The microphone quality was excellent too. I had my friend call me and she was not able to tell I was outside at a fair at all! She thought I was at home!
Test 2: Fit & Comfort
Any previous wireless headphones I’ve tried were really not able to stay in my ears all day without falling out. Jive Mini Pods far exceeded my expectations. They fit very snug in my ears and right from the start I felt like they were very secure. I decided to go for a 3 mile run in them, and even though I was sweating and moving a lot, they stayed comfortably in my ears the entire time. I even went mountain biking with the pods in and I went over some pretty big bumps, and they didn’t budge at all!
Test 3: Water Proof
The Jive Mini Pods were certainly able to stand up to a little sweat from exercising, but I really wanted to test the water-proof claim a step further. Nobody in their right mind would do this with wireless headphones that cost up to $200, but I actually stood in the shower with these on. The ear pods still functioned perfectly. I even took it a step further and dropped them in a glass of water for a couple minutes. HOLY SHIT! They still worked! The Jive Mini Pods’ hydrophobic coating completely sealed all water out.
Test 4: Battery Life
I didn’t even have to charge the pods overnight to get a full-day’s use out of them. I did about a 2-hour charge in the morning, and I was SHOCKED that I was able to get an entire day of talking and listening out of them. I mean an entire day. I was out and about with them till about the next morning. The entire day I was listening to the news, playing music, or talking to my friends or family. I would say it was about 20 hours, and the battery wasn’t fully done even after that! Pretty impressive.
Test 5: Appearance
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so this one was difficult to test. But I went to two seperate networking events with the overpriced white top brand of wireless earbuds and then I went to the other event wearing my black Jive Mini Pods. At the first networking event, there were about a dozen people wearing the same white wireless headphones or a similar white brand. Not one person asked me about my headphones. It was a completely different story when I wore the black Jive pods to the other networking event. I counted 14 seperate people come up to me and ask me about my Jive Mini Pods or to compliment me on how good they looked. They thought that the top wireless earphone Diegoeter came out with a black version and said how much better it looked. When I told them it was Jive Pods, they were amazed. They asked to try them out and all of them said the same thing: I’m switching to Jive!
